Danish sport: a history

Sports these days are for all, kids, youth and adults, girls and boys. But it has not always been the case. Just a couple of hundred years ago it was way different. Back then sports were only for the rich and only for men of high rank.

Can you imagine a bicycle race including female participants wearing a dress and a hat? Or a football game where the players are using walking sticks?
If not, then you are able to read a whole lot more about it below this category. You can find more “fun facts” about the history of sports but also become immersed in how sport and The National Olympic Committee & Sports Confederation of Denmark has developed through the past couple of hundred years.
In this category you will also be able to read more about who founded The National Olympic Committee & Sports Confederation of Denmark and a list of all the Presidents since its inception in 1896.
You are also able to find information about The Olympic Games should you be interested. The information includes the participants and their results both during the antique time and modern time.
Last but not least you will also be able to find information on each of our national sport federations, as well as when they were founded and accepted as a part of The National Olympic Committee & Sports Confederation of Denmark.
